Nextbitt wants to hire 30 people by the end of the year. Expects turnover to grow by more than 50%

9/5/2023

The main focus of the recruitment process will be in the area of sustainability, namely environmental engineers, electrical engineers and the like.

After reinforcing its team with the addition of 11 new professionals for different areas of activity last year and having already made some hires at the beginning of 2023, Nextbitt plans to recruit another 30 employees by the end of the year. With a focus on the European market, particularly the neighboring country, the technology company is preparing to hire a country manager who will be in charge of the entire business in the Spanish market. The forecast in terms of turnover is for growth of more than 50%, ECO Pessoas knows.

"We started 2022 with a team of 25 employees. During that same year, with the aim of accelerating the pace of business and creating the conditions for Nextbitt to enter the international market, we strengthened the team by 11 people for different areas of activity. We strengthened the Consulting Services team with consultants and data analysts, the Product teams with software engineers and QA testers, and the support teams, especially Finance and People & Culture," explains Miguel Salgueiro, founder & partner of Nextbitt.

The year 2023 began with an accelerated pace of growth, namely with the hiring of different profiles for the marketing, R&D and support areas, which already represents the entry of more than a dozen new talents into the company, which currently has 50 people.

Goals for 2023

By the end of the year, the estimate is to hire another 30 employees, says the manager. "Attracting and retaining talent is a central pillar in fulfilling our strategic plan for 2023. It's not an easy challenge, given that the competition in the search for technological talent, and beyond, will continue, but it's overcoming challenges that has brought us this far and I'm confident that we'll be able to fulfill this plan," he assures. "The commitment to continuous innovation, the investment in international expansion and the business growth we have achieved in recent years has been accompanied by the growth of our talent base, which is a fundamental part of meeting all these objectives."

The area of sustainability will be in the spotlight this year in recruitment. "For us, sustainability is the fundamental pillar on which the future of business rests, and consequently the future of the development of society as we know it. That's why, in 2023, we want to strongly reinforce Nextbitt with talent in this area, namely with environmental engineers and electrical engineers or similar," says Miguel Salgueiro.

Even so, the Portuguese technology company, which specializes in managing physical assets (buildings and all the equipment installed in them), intends to continue strengthening its other teams. "This internalization of skills will allow us to better address the reduction of the carbon footprint, demonstrating the level of execution of the strategy in this dimension of sustainability. We want to continue delivering the best physical asset solution on the market with a strong sustainability component as the determining factor in elevating and differentiating the Nextbitt business," says the leader.

Increase turnover by 50%

The company received an investment of five million euros in July 2022, which was mainly earmarked for European internationalization. Spain is the country in its sights. "Although we can't give much information yet, we are working on hiring a country manager who will be in charge of the entire Nextbitt business in the Spanish market," he says.

With regard to turnover for 2023, the company expects to achieve growth of more than 50% and to reinforce investment in priority areas: "continuous innovation of our platform, especially in the environmental and energy component for clients, a strong commitment to sustainability, a focus on internationalization and the establishment of new partnerships," says Nextbitt's founder & partner.
